Co-opbank hands over charitable houses in Thai Binh

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s Trade Union and the Cooperative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank)’s Trade Union on 29th November 2014 liased with the SBV Thai Binh branch and the People’s Committee in Hung Ha commune to organize a ceremony to hand over charitable houses to 4 households which are accredited for their contribution to the country’s revolution.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong- Deputy Governor of the SBV handed over 200 million VND to the representatives of supported households in Hung Ha On behalf of the SBV’s Trade Union and Co-opBank’s Trade Union .

Participants in the ceremony included Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong- Deputy Governor of the SBV, leaders of the SBV’s Trade Union, SBV Thai Binh branch, representatives from the Labour, War invalids, Social affairs Department in Thai Binh province, Thai Binh Women’s Union and People ‘s Committee in Hung Ha commune.

Participants from Co-opBank included Mr. Tran Quang Khanh- Chairman of Co-opBank, Mr. Do Manh Hung- General Director, Deputy General Directors, leaders of Co-opBank’s Trade Union and Co-opBank’s employees from Thai Binh branch.

On behalf of the SBV’s Trade Union and Co-opBank’s Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong- Deputy Governor of the SBV handed over 200 million VND to the representatives of supported households. These households include: Ms. Tran Thi Gai- heroic Vietnamese mother (Tuy Lai, Minh Khai commune), Ms. Luu Thi Can- wife of fallen soldier (Nghia Thon, Kim Trung commune), Ms. Doan Thi Gai- wife of fallen soldier (Phuong La, Thai Phuong commune) and Ms. Pham Thi Le- mother of fallen soldier (Thi doc, Hung Ha commune).

Also on this occasion, Co-opBank handed over a charitable house for Ms. Tran Thi Gai- heroic Vietnamese mother.

This house was completed on schedule after 4 months of construction with a high level of technical quality assurance, giving Ms.Gai’s family convenience in their daily life.

Ms. Tran Thi Gai who is 100 years old has 2 sons who both died during the war against America. Despite her old age, Ms. Gai is entirely lucid. She thanks Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong- Deputy Governor of the SBV and leaders of Co-opBank as well as central and local governments for their devoted attention to those families.

On the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong- Deputy Governor of the SBV visited Co-opBank Thai Binh branch.

During the meeting, Mr. Cao Van Ngoan- Director of Co-opBank Thai Binh branch reported to the delegates about the operation of Thai Binh branch and local PCFs.

As of 30th November 2014, total operational capital of the branch is 920 billion VND, loans to PCFs account for 70%, non-performing loans is below 1%. Co-opBank Thai Binh branch has shown a good performance in capital intermediation, liquidity and solvency support to PCFs, promoting them to operate efficiently and using funds for agricultural-rural development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong- Deputy Governor of the SBV appraises the achievements of Co-opBank Thai Binh branch and the Co-opBank network in general in the recent years. Especially, Co-opBank through its responsibilities and obligations has out-performed in the role of “The Bank of all PCFs” particularly in capital intermediation to PCFs, using funds for agricultural-rural development through PCFs members…

“There are unique features to the operation of the PCF system and so Co-opBank- being the bank of the system- when encounter any obstacles and difficulties must promptly report to the SBV to find a solution, to ensure a safe, sound and sustainable development of the system”- said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong.

On behalf of Co-opBank, Mr. Tran Quang Khanh- the Chairman of Co-opBank and Mr. Do Manh Hung- the General Director of Co-opBank thanked the SBV for placing its interest in Co-opBank and facilitating Co-opBank to perform its duties and hopes to receive more support from the SBV to allow Co-opBank to better perform its responsibilities and obligations to PCFs, fulfilling its role of “the Bank of all PCFs”.
